While driving through a rural area in the rain, Tory Chang found a tiny animal stuck in the mud. They took her into their car, thinking she was a baby fox and contacted For Fox Sake Wildlife Rescue for help. However, the animal, named Yoti, proved to be a mystery as no one could identify its species. Yoti went to a foster home but became too wild to stay in domestic care, ending up back at For Fox Sake Wildlife Rescue. Eventually, DNA test results revealed that Yoti was a coyote-domestic dog hybrid, a rare occurrence in the wild. Yoti will now be cared for by Walden’s Puddle, a wildlife rehabilitation facility, until she is ready to be released back into the wild.
