Designing a house is always a challenge since it involves understanding the needs and preferences of those who will live in it and incorporating them into the design to reflect their personality and lifestyle. At the Mayakoba residential project, collaboration with the homeowners was crucial to creating a design that combines functionality with an elegant and fresh aesthetic. The use of symmetrical glass and steel lines complemented by warm natural stone and wood elements created a balanced and visually appealing façade. A double-height lobby provides a spacious entrance with a clear view of the patio and the first level, creating a feeling of openness throughout the house. The living and dining areas are decorated in sober white tones with soft contrasting stone accents that add warmth to the space. The floor-to-ceiling sliding doors allow natural light to flood into the bedrooms and living area while maintaining a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors. Additionally, the terrace with a pool and roof-top provide a private social area to enjoy the outdoors. The pool’s chukum finish combined with wooden accents creates a fresh and inviting atmosphere that blends seamlessly with the surrounding area.
